Long Valley Senior Center

There are two Senior Centers in Kane County, located in Kanab and Orderville (also known as Long Valley).  They are approximately 20 miles apart and are open to any senior citizen, 60 years or older, wishing to engage in social and physical activity. Both centers are supported by Kane County, City of Kanab, City of Orderville, Five County Association of Governments, State and Federal grants, and by individual donations.

Our seniors enjoy daily exercise classes, crafts, sewing, cards, Wii Sports Wii Fit, Xbox Sports, chess, checkers, backgammon and more. These activities are open to anyone interested in joining in the fun. If someone has a new activity to introduce to the center they are welcome to see if they can generate interest.

The Kanab Center provides weekly local shopping trips on Wednesdays at approximately 1:30 p.m. We use a 12-passenger air conditioned bus, which is handicap-accessible. We can pick up and drop off those who sign up in advance. The center also offers monthly out of town shopping trips on the first Tuesday after the 3rd to Cedar City or St. George, as well as monthly sightseeing trips to various recreational areas such as Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Jacob Lake, Kaibab National Forest, Grand Canyon, and Panguitch Lake. The cost of the recreational trips range from $5 to $15 per person.
