The Extended Care Facility at Boundary Community Hospital is a licensed, skilled nursing home for long-term care with a 5 Star Rating and multiple Excellence in Caring Awards from the State of Idaho. The homelike environment of the facility and the family of caregivers who provide high-quality healthcare, are dedicated to the physical and emotional well-being of the residents.
Our staff includes an activity coordinator and several assistants who encourage the residents to stay as active as possible through games, movies, walks, outings, jigsaw puzzles, stretching exercises and other activities.
Local churches hold services every Sunday throughout the month alternating weeks for those wishing to attend a church service. Several residents attend and enjoy the singing, the familiar hymns and the short sermons. Often people of the congregation come and visit with their elderly friends who now live in the Extended Care facility.
Compassion and respect means going the extra mile to make someone comfortable. It means preparing the wheel-chair accessible van and taking three residents of Extended Care to Smith Lake to sit on the dock and fish. It means somebody in the hospital cleaning the fish. It means the kitchen staff cooking and preparing the fish. It means staff members congratulating the fishermen. This compassion and respect results in a facility well-run; with patients well-cared for.
